Over the past year, the D.C. Policy Center has worked closely with D.C. Councilmember At-Large Robert C. White, Jr.  Last year, we introduced a new policy idea, “Inclusionary Conversions,” to convert rent-controlled housing into permanently-affordable housing. Thanks to Councilmember White, that idea is becoming reality: the D.C. Council has introduced and funded legislation for a pilot of the program.

Now, as the Council has passed a historically large FY 2022 budget–which includes both policy priorities we are very excited about, and others that we wish had turned out differently, we are sitting down with Councilmember White. Join us for a frank, off-the-record conversation with the Councilmember about this past year’s wins, and also his priorities going forward. Follow along as we hear from him about what he needs to advance his priorities in the coming year, and how he plans to work with business leaders. We’ll save time as well for you to ask the Councilmember your questions.

We hope to see you there!
