On October 20, 2025, Executive Director Yesim Sayin was quoted by WAMU:

“None of the activity that fuels growth is coming from what is happening in the city or in the region,” said Yesim Sayin, the head of the D.C. Policy Center and an expert on the local economy. “It’s just the national and the global markets…Any indicator of the District’s economic health that’s not tied to stock market is looking worse for the wear.”
