Ashley Zheng was a Spring Intern at the D.C. Policy Center. She is a high school junior with an interest in education policy, especially in regards to promoting equity in education. To do her part to reduce learning disparities exacerbated by COVID-19, she has founded a free tutoring organization, Equity Learning, connecting K-6 students with high school volunteer tutors. As part of our Education Policy Initiative, Ashley has researched various federal legislation, most notably the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Funds, to examine its current uses and future implications.
