D.C. region braces for economic fallout as Trump administration resumes federal layoffs | Washington Business Journal

On July 9, 2025, Executive Director Yesim Sayin was quoted in Washington Business Journal:

“There are real livelihoods at stake here,” said Yesim Sayin, executive director of the D.C. Policy Center and previously the D.C. government’s director of fiscal and legislative analysis. “This is going to be challenging times for all who chose the region as their home.”

“Folks who live in this area, and maybe were planning to stay here for 10 more years, they might find greener pastures elsewhere, and that’s a real problem,” Sayin said.
