On January 29, 2025, Education Policy Initiative Director Chelsea Coffin was quoted in the Washington Post:

Back in the District, Chelsea Coffin, director of the Education Policy Initiative at the D.C. Policy Center, said the progress that city was making was exciting. Moving forward, she said it would be important to look at what’s working for other school districts, particularlyfor making strides with older students and closing achievement gaps.

“In D.C. in particular, it’ll be really important to look, as we dig in deeper, at where the gaps are between subgroups, really focusing on the gap between White students in D.C. and Black students, for example,” Coffin said.
