Leila Batties, Partner at Holland & Knight, is joining the D.C. Policy Center Board of Directors

Washington D.C., September 18, 2018 – The D.C. Policy Center announces the appointment of Leila Batties to its Board of Directors.

Ms. Batties, a partner at Holland & Knight, focuses on land use and zoning matters, representing clients in numerous aspects of the real estate planning and development process in the District of Columbia.

“We are delighted to welcome Ms. Batties to the D.C. Policy Center Board of Directors,” said Charles “Sandy” Wilkes, the Chairman of the Board. “Ms. Batties is incredibly talented and brings a broad and deep set of skills to the D.C. Policy Center. We believe that her vast experience, especially in land use matters, and her deep knowledge of the city will be extremely valuable as the D.C. Policy Center continues to focus on a wide range of policy issues.”

This appointment adds to the list of service that distinguishes Ms. Batties. In 2016, Ms. Batties was appointed to the Ward 7 Economic Development Advisory Council, for which she took the lead on coordinating several amendments to the District’s Comprehensive Plan – Future Land Use Map intended to facilitate economic development along the ward’s primary corridors. She has also served on the board of directors for the DC Housing Finance Agency, the MedStar Washington Hospital Center, and is an active member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., a national member organization of mothers aimed at developing and nurturing children through learning programs, community service, legislative advocacy and philanthropic giving.
