Letter: Here are some reasons for DC statehood | Chico Enterprise-Record

On July 12, 2020, the D.C. Policy Center’s work was cited in the Chico Enterprise-Record:

If DC were a state this would lead to the Federal government being “coerced” by being part of a state. In fact, the vast majority of DC residents do not work for the federal government: according to the DC Policy Center, about 1 in 4 jobs held by DC residents are with the federal government. According the Office of Personnel Management, more Californians (about 152,000) work for the federal government than do DC residents (about 141,000).
