Biden-Harris Administration Unveils Ambitious Plans to Strengthen Teaching Profession Ahead of Teacher Appreciation Week | The Washington Informer

A recent study by the D.C. Policy Center found that while the District pays principals and teachers higher-than-average salaries, the ratio between principal and teacher pay is lower than the national average in surrounding states, including Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. In D.C., teachers earn, on average, $79,800 annually, which is 55% of what principals earn—or slightly lower than the national average of 58%.
